The Landmark Theatre is one of the most outstanding examples of Far East and Oriental architecture in North America.  Designed by Thomas Lamb, it was handcrafted by artisans of the period, and stands as a dramatic link to Syracuse’s glorious past.  It is acknowledged by all to be the focal point of Syracuse’s entertainment district.  The Landmark’s importance to the future success of our city cannot be ignored.

IT IS UNIMAGINABLE THAT JUST A LITTLE OVER TWO DECADES AGO, THE LANDMARK THEATRE WAS NEARLY TORN DOWN TO MAKE ROOM FOR A PARKING LOT!

Since that time, the Landmark has come of age.  Over 200,000 people annually attend a wide range of special lobby, as well as main stage, events and concerts, including such acts as:  Sesame Street, Blues Clues Live, David Copperfield, Barry Manilow, Patti LaBelle, Dave Matthews, Judy Collins, Johnny Mathis, Bonnie Raitt, Bruce Springsteen, Diana Ross, BB King, Harry Connick, Jr., Jeff Foxworthy, Jerry Seinfeld, The Moody Blues, Ringo Starr, the Irish Tenors, the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, and Beck.

We greatly appreciate the support given by our community to the Landmark through the years and although much has been accomplished, we continue to need your financial assistance.  The Landmark is a “rental house,” which means that we rent the facility for a fee to promoters who book acts with us.  Revenue from concessions and rent are barely enough to cover the costs of daily operations of the theatre, and leaves very little money for restoration efforts, technology improvements, in-house promotions and special programming for children and seniors.

The Landmark Theatre is a not-for-profit corporation.  Your annual membership is vital to supporting one of the last theatres of its kind in North America.
